Notelune contains no advertising, tracking, analytics or third-party analytics SDKs. You do not create a Notelune account, and Notelune does not operate a server that stores your notes or media library.
Information handled by the app
Notes and private media
Notes, folders, tags and your media library are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, the app sends this content to the private CloudKit database associated with the Apple Account signed in on your device. Apple provides and operates iCloud and CloudKit under its own terms and privacy policy.
Private-space originals, note attachments, thumbnails and sensitive media metadata are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded as CloudKit assets. Searchable private metadata is loaded locally only while its private space is unlocked and is removed from the local database when that space locks.
Diagnostics
Notelune does not include a developer-operated analytics or crash reporting service. Apple may make aggregated App Store and diagnostic information available to developers according to your device and App Store privacy settings; this is handled by Apple.
Device permissions
- Photos: used to import items you select, export items you choose, preserve complete Live Photo resources and, only when requested, delete originals after verified import.
- Camera and microphone: requested only when you capture a photo or video directly inside a private space, or scan a recovery QR code. Direct captures are not automatically added to your Photos library.
- Face ID or Touch ID: used through Apple system APIs to confirm private or destructive actions. Notelune does not receive or store biometric data.
- Files: used only for files and locations you select when importing, exporting or creating a backup.
Your choices and deletion
You can use Notelune without iCloud sync. You can review or revoke device permissions in system Settings. You can delete notes, media and private spaces from within the app; when iCloud sync is enabled, those deletions are synchronised to your private CloudKit database.
Deleting the app removes its local data from that device but does not necessarily remove data already stored in iCloud. iCloud data and storage are managed through your Apple Account settings. Before deleting content, consider exporting originals or creating an encrypted backup.
Security and recovery
Each private space uses separate encryption material. Keep its recovery key somewhere safe outside the app. If you lose both the passphrase and recovery key, the developer cannot recover the content for you. No technology can guarantee absolute security, and device screenshots or photographs taken with another camera cannot always be prevented.
Children
Notelune is a general-purpose productivity app and is not directed at children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through Notelune.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Notelune changes. The date at the top will identify the latest version. Material changes will be reflected here before or when the relevant app update becomes available.
